Taste of 'Dena Goes Virtual!
In this period of social distancing, this year's Taste of 'Dena will be presented as an online watch party on September 26, 2020 at 7:00pm, preceded by a digital silent auction and mystery wine pull. While we can’t gather in the library and share food and wine this year, we are going to celebrate together in a vastly different (less tasting, more helping) way. All proceeds from this virtual campaign will help purchase... (drum roll, please!) a mobile library unit! Essentially, we’re going to help fund a third library branch… on wheels! This unit will provide roaming access to Wi-Fi, books, technology, outreach programs, and whatever else our creative library staff can imagine. In an amazing community like ours, we’re truly all in this together. This is just one more way the Altadena Library is responding to the needs of all our neighbors.

We have put together an amazing, hyper-local Silent Auction for you to bid on the items of your dreams (or, at least something you know you can't live without!). Bidding will start September 19 and close the evening of September 26.

You may make an outright donation any time to support our outreach initiatives and brand new library branch... on wheels!

You can purchase a mystery wine bottle (or 10!) online and pick it up the week before the event. When you purchase your wine, you will receive instructions for pickup.

Expanding Critical Services to ALL of Altadena
|
While our two Altadena Libraries are currently able to serve thousands of Altadenans each year with critical resources and programs, a mobile Altadena Library on wheels would allow even more of our community to benefit from all that the libraries can offer, including improved access to print materials, Wi-Fi, technology experiences, educational programs, literacy services, and more!
14% of households in Altadena do not have an Internet subscription. 25% of Altadena is under the age of 18. 11% of Altadenans ages 25+ do not have a high school diploma. |

Past Events
Every year the Altadena Library Foundation gathers our community for an evening of celebration! Hundreds gather in the Altadena Main Library, adorned with twinkling lights and all abuzz from a variety of local restauranteurs preparing delicious bites for guests, to honor the Altadena Library District's commitment to serving its community and to raise critical funds to support library operations and offerings.
